A new approach to weight loss that helps you lose pounds and not regain them.
The Allurion program relies mainly on a revolutionary gastric balloon that creates a feeling of satiety. Allurion Balloon is designed to help you reduce your food intake by occupying volume in your stomach.

The Allurion Program helps you start your weight loss and build healthier eating habits while avoiding cravings frequently associated with diets.

The balloon is swallowed during a 15-minute consultation with your doctor and is then naturally eliminated about 16 weeks later.

After about 16 weeks, patients lost an average of 10-15% of their total weight.
The only gastric balloon without surgery, endoscopy or anesthesia.
The Allurion Program
Simple and effective
The Allurion Balloon is placed in your stomach during a brief 15-minute consultation with your doctor.

INGESTION
You swallow a capsule containing the balloon connected to a thin tube (catheter). An X-ray is done to verify that the capsule is properly positioned in the stomach before filling.

FILLING
Once the balloon is in your stomach, your doctor uses the tube to fill it with fluid. A second X-ray is done to check the correct filling of the balloon in the stomach. Then the doctor gently removes the tube and you are on track for weight loss. The balloon helps you reduce your appetite, allowing you to eat less without feeling hungry.

ELIMINATION
After about 16 weeks, the Allurion Balloon empties itself and is eliminated naturally.
A temporary balloon does not mean temporary weight loss.
The Allurion program has shown that up to 95% of the average weight loss can be maintained 1 year after the elimination of the ball. You are not alone( e), throughout your journey, you benefit from the constant support of your doctor and a nutritionist throughout the program. Work with your monitoring team to change your eating habits and exercise practice as part of a healthy and holistic approach to weight loss.
Frequently asked questions
How is the balloon introduced into my stomach?
The balloon is placed in your stomach during a short 15-minute consultation with your doctor. You swallow a vegetable capsule containing the deflated balloon. The balloon is connected to a thin tube (catheter). Once the capsule is in your stomach, you take a first X-ray to confirm its positioning. Then your doctor uses the tube to fill the balloon with liquid, followed by a second X-ray to make sure it is properly filled. Once the balloon is properly filled, the doctor gently removes the tube, marking the end of the placement procedure.
Is the ball easy to swallow?
99.9% of people can swallow the capsule without problems. However, if you have difficulty swallowing it, your doctor will use a fine guide (stylus) to facilitate ingestion of the capsule, always without endoscopy or anesthesia.
How many pounds will I lose?
On average, patients lose 10-15% of their total weight.
What is the ball filled with?
The flask is filled with 550 ml of liquid.
How long does it take to resume normal activities after the ball is placed?
Most people can resume their normal activities in a day or two. However, some people experience nausea, abdominal cramps, and occasionally vomiting after placing the balloon. In most cases, your doctor may prescribe medications that are commonly used to manage these symptoms.
Are there any dietary restrictions during or after the program?
There are a few specific dietary recommendations to follow before placing the ball and during the week following the placement, during your adjustment period to the ball. Your nutritionist will guide you through the Allurion Program. You don’t have to make radical changes all at once to eat healthier; it’s best to set goals that are within your reach and gradually change your habits. Over time, small changes will make a big difference to your health and help you maintain your weight loss.
How is the follow-up?
Before the ball is placed, you will have an appointment with the nutrition team to assess your eating habits, medical history, diets and psychological status. Then, one week after the ball is placed you have regular appointments (monthly, then bi-annual for a minimum of 1 year) with the nutrition team.
How is the balloon removed?
After about 16 weeks, a valve, present on the balloon, will open so that it empties itself and is eliminated by the natural way, without any
medical intervention, when you go to the toilet.
What happens after that?
Once the ball is removed, the Allurion Program and follow-up team support persist. This step aims to support your maintenance of new lifestyle habits and prevent any resumption of weight loss.
