Doctor BAREI, a former senior resident at Paris hospitals, has extensive experience in the field of digestive and bariatric surgery. After completing his internship at the Assistance Publique de l’Hôpital de Paris (APHP), he worked for 4 years as assistant clinical chief in the digestive and bariatric surgery department of the Hôpital Bichat, the first department of its kind in France and a forerunner of bariatric procedures.
Docteur BAREI is recognized for being one of the first surgeons in France to offer minimally invasive solutions to his patients. Since 2017, he has begun placing Allurion gastric balloons, in collaboration with the laboratory of the same name. This approach was developed in close collaboration with the nutrition and dietetics team headed by Madame Stéphanie HUBSCH, assisted by Madame COIGNARD and Madame ALVES.
To date, Dr. BAREI has placed over 500 gastric balloons, and the mid-term results are encouraging, with 70% of patients maintaining significant benefits more than two years after balloon placement.
