What is the modular ring?
This procedure has been in place since 1968. Laparoscopy spin has made this surgery less invasive. This procedure has been performed for about thirty years by laparoscopic means. Dr Barei has been performing this surgery since 1998 and despite the lack of appeal to this procedure on the part of patients, he continues to perform this surgery less invasive than the Sleeve and Bypass procedures.
Who is the ring for?
This procedure is intended for obese patients who do not have a massive excess weight and who do not wish to modify their anatomy. The reversible nature of this procedure reassures patients reluctant to other heavier surgeries.
How is the follow-up done?
The follow-up of these patients is ensured by Dr Barei who with successive tightening allows to stabilize the weight of the patients.
This monitoring is mandatory for success in the medium and long term. The lack of follow-up of long-term ring patients in the past gave a bad image to this surgery which remains a useful and minimally invasive surgery.
